A single acting hydraulic cylinder has only one working chamber, meaning oil can only enter from one port and exit from the other. Therefore, it can only achieve unidirectional movement with the help of a one-way hydraulic control valve. The pump for a single acting hydraulic cylinder is responsible for supplying pressurized oil to this chamber, driving the piston to move in one direction. In the return stroke, the piston is usually pushed back by external forces such as a spring, gravity, or load.
