Bentonite slurry mixer
A bentonite slurry mixer is a crucial piece of equipment in geotechnical and piling construction, specifically designed to efficiently mix bentonite clay with water to produce a high-quality, stable slurry. This slurry is primarily used to stabilize boreholes during deep foundation works such as bored piling, diaphragm walls, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD).
The operating principle of a bentonite slurry mixer is primarily based on high-speed mixing or vortex circulation shear mixing. Through physical action, the bentonite powder and water are thoroughly mixed to form a uniform, stable slurry.

High speed bentonite slurry mixer principle:
Power Drive: The motor drives the agitator shaft at high speed, driving the agitator blades to vigorously stir the material.
Vortex Formation: The design of the agitator blades creates a high-speed vortex within the mixing tank. This vortex facilitates thorough contact and mixing between the bentonite powder and the water.
Shearing and Pulverization: The shear force generated by the high-speed vortex pulverizes solid particles, allowing them to blend more fully with the water, forming a uniform slurry.
Uniform Mixing: Through continuous high-speed mixing, the bentonite powder and water are continuously mixed in the vortex, ultimately forming a slurry with moderate viscosity and strong stability.

Typical application scenarios of bentonite slurry grout mixer:
1. Pile Foundation Construction
In bored piles and underground continuous wall projects, bentonite slurry stabilizes the borehole walls and prevents collapse.
After grouting, it forms a waterproof layer, improving the bearing capacity and durability of the pile foundation.
2. Foundation Reinforcement
Bentonite slurry is injected into weak foundations to fill pores and improve foundation strength and stability.
It is suitable for foundation treatment in projects such as highways, railways, and bridges.
3. Tunnel and Underground Engineering
During tunnel excavation, slurry injection seals groundwater channels, achieving waterproofing and reinforcement.
Used in conjunction with a shield machine, it optimizes the slurry circulation system and improves construction efficiency.
4. Mine and Slope Management
Slurry is injected into mine tunnels or slope cracks to prevent water seepage and landslides.
The expansive properties of bentonite effectively fill fine cracks and enhance structural stability.
